Keep your smile bright and your gums happy with gentle cleanings.

Brushing your teeth twice a day is only part of the fight. While most people believe that cavities are the main path to tooth loss, it is actually a type of gum disease called periodontitis. That's why we recommend regular preventive cleanings with one of our gentle hygienists.
DID YOU KNOW?
Plaque is a sticky bacteria-film that builds up on your teeth every day. Over time, this plaque can harden and form calculus (tarter) deposits. These harbor bacteria that cause cavities and eat away at your gums and bone that support your teeth. Unfortunately these deposits can't be removed with a toothbrush alone - they must be removed by a dental hygienist. If you notice that your gums bleed when you brush or floss, this is called gingivitis and it's the first sign something is wrong. The good news is that this is reversible, though left untreated, it can turn into periodontitis. The bone loss caused by periodontitis is irreversible, but it can often be treated and kept from progressing with "deep cleanings" and regular maintenance.
Don't worry, though. With our gentle hygienists, deep cleanings only sound scary.
